Dismantling the electric drill

Below is a detailed procedure for disassembling the electric drill model IE 1032.

Disconnecting the gearbox.

Remove the three-jaw chuck from the spindle.

Unscrew the three screws located in the recesses of the gearbox housing and remove the spring washers from them.

By inserting a knife into opposite sections of the joint between the gearbox housing and the intermediate shield, slightly separate the housing from the shield.

Insert two screwdrivers into the gap formed from opposite sides and, using them as levers, detach the gearbox from the intermediate shield.

Dismantling the gearbox.

Remove the block of gear wheels 2 (Fig. 33) from the housing 1 of the gearbox, remove the ball bearings from the block shaft.

Remove circlip 5 from the groove of spindle 4.

On the side of the tapered end of the spindle, remove the circlip and the protective washer from the housing groove 1.

Then you need to remove the gear wheel 3 from the spindle 4 and remove the key from the keyway.

After that, you can remove the spindle with ball bearings from the housing through the hole in its outer flange.

Remove the ball bearings, spacer sleeve and washers from the spindle. Remove the pin from the body b.

Dismantling the handle.

Unscrew the four screws on the cover of the drill handle, remove the cover.

Carefully slide out the brush holders 1 with brushes from the grooves of the drill body 9 (Figure 34).

Unscrew screws 2.

Loosen the tips of the brush cables and the leads of the field coils.

Unscrew two screws 4, remove the clamp b, release the connecting cord with the rubber tube 5 put on it.

Lift the switch 7 with the trigger drive mechanism, which includes the trigger 8, the spring and the bar.

Unscrew the four screws, disconnect the connecting cord, capacitor 3 leads and other wires from the switch.

The leads and wires must be marked so that during assembly they do not violate the correct connections.

Having unscrewed with a screwdriver with a narrow blade two screws located in the holes of the switch body, separate the guide bar, remove the trigger 8 and the spring.

Dismantling the electric motor.

Insert two screwdrivers from opposite sides of the ventilation holes and using them as levers, undock the intermediate shield 1 (Fig. 35) from the electric drill body and remove it together with the armature 3 from the body.

Lightly hitting with a hammer (0.1 kg) through a wooden strip on the end of the armature shaft, press it out together with the ball bearing from the intermediate shield.

Remove the ball bearing and fan impeller 2 from the armature shaft.

From housing 1 (Fig. 36), remove the fixing plastic sleeve (not shown in the figure), the stator core 2 with the excitation coils 3.

Preliminarily, the position of the stator relative to the housing should be marked with mounting marks.
