3. Device and principle of operation.

3.1. An electric dryer is a wall-mounted device consisting of the following main units (Fig. 1):

  • electric motor - 6,
  • fan - 4,
  • heater - 3 and
  • time relay - 7.

On the base 5, made of impact-resistant polystyrene, the fan and the capacitor of the electric motor are fastened with screws. 9.

  • On the front wall of the housing 1, also made of impact-resistant polystyrene, a mirror is mounted.
  • A thermal protection (fusible link) is mounted in the area of ​​the heater coil, which melts when the permissible temperature is exceeded.
  • Electric motors, on the shaft of which the fan turbine is mounted, are fixed to the fan casing with screws.
  • The heater coil is made of high ohmic resistance wire and is wound on a refractory frame.
  • Coil resistance 36 ohms.
  • The ends of the spiral are connected to terminal block 10.
  • The time relay switches the power supply circuit of the electric dryer through the contacts of the microswitch.


3.2. After pressing button 13 (Fig. 1), the contacts of the time relay are closed, and the electric current flows simultaneously into the electric motor and the heater (Fig. 2).

The electric motor starts and drives the fan turbine. The air drawn in, passing through the heater, is heated and pushed out through the guide 8 (Fig. 1).

1. All parameters of the circuit are measured when the device is operating in the "Charge" mode on the equivalent load with an active resistance equal to (1.3 ± 0.13) Ohm.

In this case, the charge current is (8.0 ± 0.5) A, the supply voltage is (220 ± 4.4) V.


2. Constant voltage and oscillograms were taken relative to point 18.

3. Oscillograms were taken using an S1-68 oscilloscope.

The rest of the voltages were measured with a combined device Ts4317 and may differ from those shown in the diagram by no more than 20 ٪.
